The SHEIN S Merchant Edition Scam

SHEIN is a very popular Chinese-based clothing retailer known for its cheap but cute clothes. They are so big that they are the target of numerous scams, the most popular ones being the SHEIN influencer scam and the “you’ve won a gift card” scam. The newest one is one of the more complicated scams involving setting up your own SHEIN store.

It starts with an e-mail or message on Instagram inviting you to become a SHEIN merchant. How exciting! They tell you that you can create your own shop on their platform selling SHEIN clothes with their new SHEIN S Merchant Edition platform.

They will direct you to the us.sheinshop.vip website to sign up for an account and talk with you over WhatsApp to help you set up your account to deposit money to get your store started. Then you will get access to clothing options to add to your store. When someone orders, they will dropship the products for you.

Once you are all set up with a store on sheinshop.world, the orders will start coming in like magic! For each order, they will require you to deposit the money needed, and then you are supposed to get that money plus a profit refunded in seven business day. You will only be able to see what people ordered, but their info like name and address will be blocked out with asterisks.

If you try to withdraw your money, you’ll find your account has been frozen! Want to get access to your money again? You’ll be asked to deposit around $500 to unlock it.

Unfortunately, it’s all a scam and you won’t be getting your money back.

How to Spot a SHEIN Scam

There are a few ways you can detect if something is a scam, the first of course being to Google it! Hopefully you did that, found this post and saved your money.

Check the Domain Details

When I shop at SHEIN, the domain is https://us.shein.com. There are two important things here to note- the shein.com domain and the https.

SHEIN is going to be using a top level domain, not something like .world or .vip. If it’s not SHEIN.com, it’s not the real site. SHEIN is international, so usually the county will be first like us.shein.com or eur.shein.com.

And any website that deals in sensitive information like taking credit card payments needs that “s” on the end of the http. That means it is a secure website. Some of them will actually have the https on them, so don’t let that fool you! Having the https website does not mean it is not a scam, as you can see by this scam website having the secure “s” detail.

Check the E-mail Url for Domain Details

E-mails should be coming from the main domain. If the e-mail is soandso@gmail or yahoo, then it’s most likely a scam!

Check Thier WHOIS Information

You can find out who the site is registered to, how long ago it was created, and more info for free by checking their WHOIS information online at https://www.godaddy.com/whois

Upon checking this, you’ll see the sheinshop.world site was registered through Alibaba domains not that long ago in February. A site that hasn’t been up that long is very suspicious.

What to Do If You’ve Been Scammed

Unfortunately, you will not be getting your money back, but you can report it, so authorities are aware of the scam. It’s also a good idea to share your experience so others can learn from your mistake. Click here for my post on steps to take when you’ve been scammed.

Please leave a comment if you’ve been contacted by these people or gotten scammed, so others can be warned and know what to look for!

    • I got contacted today to set up a SHEIN Seller account and store.
They contacted me through facebook and then as you mentioned they transferred me to a WhatsApp number. Glad I saw this article before wasting anymore time because of course they had an answer for everything when I asked how do I know it’s not a scam? She even sent a photo of “SHEIN employee badge” ! The warehouse she said she was working from is an office rental place like WeWork and not a SHEIN warehouse as she said. Just a bunch of thieves! Thanks for posting this:)

    • Hey , I just got scammed too. Ugh , and I told them I was going to report them to the police because I wanted my money back.i know I won’t get it back. 😢😢😢

  1. I wish i read this sooner, they invited me thru fb and believed them. I actually invest $1k, it profitted really quick but havent tried to withdraw. Im still on it. 🙈 we tried to get info about it before signing but there is none. It looks legit, so i joined. The longer im on it the more my suspicions grow. Lots of it, just doesnt make sense.

  2. I got scammed with them lost my money. I did google the site and it came up like real. There was no reviews, about a month after into it it received a red alert from Google. I was only able to withdraw $200 from the account which took about 99 attempts before I received it and each time I try to withdraw it from the kraken crypto account it came with a few. To those of us who got scammed we lost our money, but, we are still standing strong. To those who are thinking of opening the VIP merchant Edition account. Run, run, run Theresa

  3. New website!
They messaged my business on Facebook and then transferred to WhatsApp when I asked them to send an email.

  4. Glad, I did see your blog on time. I was almost trapped. I logged into account they created. In withdrawals, only usdt was an option and that was a red flag. And when I clicked deposit through stripe, it showed “Estiloco Pte. Ltd” This company is regsitered in UK and director is from singapore. Thank god, I am saved.

  5. Please watch out this us. sheinsf. com is now circling people. I have been in business for a long time and these people really tried to get to get me to believe so i said, I will get my lawyer to contact them and they started saying on this is for a new person to own a shore on Shein not for companies to open a store. They showed me their badge just as stated above lol. Thank you to this website owner. You are my angel today! The fake website is us.sheinsf.com to become a shein seller

  6. I was able to take my money back from them i did the same way they did to me i i tried to be professional told them i withdraw 25k on my 401k and willing to deposit to the site and i wanted to test the withdrawal they sent me $600 worth of usdt after that told them im proud of my self i scam a scammer lol they got $800 from me

  8. Sadly, I have been scammed myself. I should’ve known that it was a scammed to begin with but it seemed so legit. There’s a special place for those who are doing this to people who are trying to ice their everyday lives. I guess it’s a living experience, you live and learn and I have done just thought. I pray no one else falls for this. I ran into the same thing not finding any information of this being a scam.
