Trying to decide between Mitra 9 Kratom Seltzer cans or their Go Packs? Read my review of Mitra 9 Kratom GoPaks and how they compare to the seltzer.

Mitra 9 Kratom Go Packs Compared to Seltzer
I’ve been a fan of the Mitra 9 seltzers for a while, but only recently tried their Mitra 9 Kratom go packs (or GoPaks as they are officially called.) This now my favorite way to consume Mitra 9!
GoPaks are Less Expensive
You can get a five pack of Mitra 9 GoPaks for less than the cost of 4 cans of seltzer, making it a more cost-effective option.

You Control the Taste and Strength
When you drink Mitra 9 from the can, you get it as-is. But when you use a Mitra 9 powdered go pack, you can make it as strong or as watered down as you want.
My favorite flavor in both types is the watermelon one, but I actually like it better in the powder form because I can make the taste a little less intense.

Mitra 9 GoPaks Last Longer than Seltzers
Seltzers are made to be fizzy, where the Mitra 9 Go Packs are more like drinking juice or flavored water. You don’t have to worry about them going flat!
I tend to drink the cans too quickly, which isn’t a good idea with any kratom product, as I did actually have a bad experience before when I drank it too fast on an empty stomach. You DO NOT want to do that!
So, I like the way I can mix the powdered pack with water and ice in a thermal cup and drink it slowly over the course of a couple hours.
GoPaks are Great for Travel
The little packets are much easier to take with you than cans, and they don’t need to be kept cold. My husband brought a bunch with him when we went on a cruise to Alaska this summer.
Same Amount of Kratom
The Mitra 9 GoPaks have the same amount of kratom extract as the seltzers- 64mg. They also are low-calorie and have zero sugar or preservatives.

How to Mix Mitra 9 Go Packs
I usually use a shaker cup, but you can pour the Mitra 9 GoPak into any container and then add 8-12 ounces of water and give it a good shake.
I usually get the best mix from using 10 ounces of water.
It mixes up nicely without leaving any residue or sludge at the bottom of the cup.
What is Mitragynine?
If you read the label, you might notice the words “Mitragynine Drink Mix” and wonder what that is.
Mitragynine is the primary active alkaloid found in the leaves of the Mitragyna speciosa tree, commonly known as kratom, which is native to Southeast Asia (particularly Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia).

What Does Mitragynine Do?
Mitragynine interacts with various receptors in the brain, primarily:
- Mu-opioid receptors – similar to opioids, which is why kratom can have pain-relieving and euphoric effects at higher doses.
- Adrenergic receptors – involved in alertness and energy, contributing to stimulating effects at lower doses.
- Serotonin and dopamine systems – possibly influencing mood and motivation.
Common Effects
Depending on the dose, mitragynine may produce:
- Low doses (1–5 grams of kratom leaves): stimulation, increased energy, focus, and sociability.
- Higher doses (5–15 grams): sedative effects, pain relief, relaxation, and euphoria.
Legal Status
The legal status of mitragynine (and kratom) varies by country and even within U.S. states. While it’s legal at the federal level in the U.S., some states and cities have banned it due to concerns about safety, abuse potential, and lack of regulation.
Is It a Drug?
Technically, yes—it’s a bioactive compound. However, kratom (and by extension, mitragynine) is currently categorized as a dietary supplement in some places and not classified as a controlled substance in others.
Conclusion
Both Mitra 9 Kratom Seltzers and GoPaks offer unique benefits depending on your preferences and lifestyle. If you prioritize cost-effectiveness and flexibility in taste and strength, the GoPaks are the way to go.
Their portability makes them ideal for travel, and their longer shelf life means you can enjoy your kratom experience without the pressure of consuming it quickly.
On the other hand, if you prefer the convenience of ready-to-drink options, the seltzers are a great choice. Ultimately, the best option for you will depend on your personal preferences for taste, convenience, and consumption style. I usually keep a stash of both!
