Westgate Town Center Resort: A Great Place to Stay and Play in Orlando

We’ve recently returned from a whirlwind of a weekend in Orlando, where we stayed at the Westgate Town Center Resort and went to Disney and Medieval Times. We were treated to a complimentary stay at the Westgate, which is conveniently located near all the Orlando attractions.

Read on to discover why the Westgate Town Center Resort is the best place to stay, play and even cosplay while visiting Orlando.

We live in Atlantic Beach, FL, which is about 2 1/2 hours away from Kissimmee, where Disney and many of the theme parks are located. Due to an accident on the highway, our short trip turned into a 6 hour grueling drive of stop and go traffic.

After the long drive and check-in, we were frazzled and tired, but all that evaporated as soon as we opened the door to our Deluxe Villa Suite. The light was streaming in from the porch and gleaming off the white marbled tile making us all go “Oooooooh” at the site of our sparkling, spacious accommodations for the next couple days.

The room definitely has the wow factor as soon as you see it. Very spacious, with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, living room area, bedroom, large screened balcony and massive bathroom. My eight-year-old son took one look at the full-size jacuzzi tub in the bedroom and proclaimed this the “best hotel room ever,” and then asked to take a bath. I have to admit, I was ready to hop in too after that long car ride!

Plenty of Space for Family, Friends and Fun

The Westgate Town Center Resort is the perfect spot for families, or groups of friends, looking for budget friendly resort deals in Orlando. There is plenty of space for everyone not just to stay, but also to get ready!

With an extra large bathroom featuring two sinks, a huge mirror, double sided shower, and a full-length mirror in the living room, everybody can get ready for whatever your event may be.

There’s also plenty of closet space to hang your clothes (or costumes) and lots of drawers to stash away what you aren’t using. The large living room mirror is perfect for checking out your outfit whether you’re heading out to dinner at Medieval Times Orlando, or for a day at MegaCon.

The rooms were clean and well appointed with necessities like soap, shampoo, conditioner, etc. The kitchen was ready for cooking with pots, pans, utensils. There’s also a coffee maker, coffee, cream and sugar.

But if you don’t plan on cooking, you don’t have to go far for food! They have several food options available including two full restaurants, one Mexican and one Italian. We had a delicious lunch at Los Amigos and highly recommend their craft margaritas!

Stay and Play at Westgate Resort

While you may be visiting Orlando for the theme parks and events, be sure and give yourself plenty of time to enjoy the resort! There’s so much to do, we didn’t even get to try it all, but we gave it a good try.

Waterslides and Spash Pads

The waterslides were super cool and the whole splash pad around the pirate ship will keep the little ones entertained even if they can’t do the big slides. And the lazy river is great place to just relax and float. We had tons of fun and my son kept asking to go back!

Swan Boat Rides

We took a swan boat out for a ride around the lake. I recommend doing this when it is cloudy because you do get hot out there peddling around. Life jackets are required and provided for this activity. And be sure to avoid the real swans swimming around the lake! I sat in the back and let the boys do the peddling for this one.

Jurassic Putt-Putt Golf

Watch out for dinosaurs! There’s a cute little mini golf course that my son LOVED because it was a good combo of challenging and easy holes. He went back for at least three rounds and says it was his favorite course ever.

There’s also basketball, bikes to ride, swimming pools, a video game room, and more. Plenty to keep you entertained the entire day without even leaving the resort.

Whatever your travel plans may be, you’re sure to leave with happy memories after staying at Westgate Town Center Resort. And be sure to bring a lock to leave on the bridge! Many people have left a little memento of their great stay in the form of the colorful locks decorating the bridge railing.
