I got hit with a ColourPop Ambassador Scam moments after posting on Instagram and using the ColourPop hashtag. Suddenly, I got an e-mail asking me to be a ColourPop Brand ambassador.

I got excited for about half a second before reading it and realizing it was just the same old ambassador scam where they ask you to pay for shipping and just steal your money.

Exclusive ColourPop Collaboration Scam Opportunity

The headline of the e-mail jumps out at you: Exclusive Collaboration Opportunity: Unlock Sustainable Skincare Success Colourpop Cosmetics. Finally! They noticed! I’ve only tagged them a million times.

Good thing I can recognize a scam when I see one. They sent a very wordy e-mail that sounds straight out of Chat GPT and comes from a G-mail address. If the real ColourPop is contacting you, it will not be from a random free e-mail service.

The scammers sit like vultures and wait for people to use the ColourPop hashtags, then contact them through e-mail with the scam. This timely contact makes it seem more legit since it leads you to believe they must have just seen your post and thought it was so awesome they had to message! The SHEIN scammers also do the same thing.

The Text of the Scam E-mail:

What’s the Scam?

They lay it on pretty thick in this one and promise you $2000 after you complete a month of working with them. They do that so they have a month to run off with your money before you realize you’ve been scammed.

After you express interest, the next e-mail they send will have the details of what you need to pay upfront and why. It’s a pretty convoluted story about shipping and import fees and taxes.

They sent another really long e-mail, so here’s just the part about the fees:

Please be advised that this collaboration is provided complimentary. However, if you are located outside of USA, it will be your responsibility to bear the shipping expenses for delivering your selected items to your designated destination, amounting to a nominal fee of $80. As for our esteemed partners situated within USA, you will solely be required to cover the dispatch cost for the items to the designated address, which will be determined by the distance and weight of the parcel.

Regarding import tax, a shipment will incur a 21% charge on the full value of the items. For instance, if the declared value of your items is 100 USD, you will be required to pay an additional 21.00 USD in taxes to the destination country’s government in order to receive the package.

However, we value our potential partners and are committed to ensuring that you experience more profit than loss throughout our collaboration. Therefore, we have taken it upon ourselves to cover 50% of the initial shipment cost.

Watch Out for ColourPop Imposters

Unfortunately, this ambassador scam isn’t the only one that’s targeting ColourPop customers. There was an entire website mimicking the real ColourPop site and was real enough to fool people unless they looked closely and read the pages. I just checked and it’s down now, but there will probably be another up soon because these scammers usually just keep at it.

Be careful online! Hopefully if you are searching for “ColourPop Scam” and found this post, you found it before you sent any money. I know it sucks that the offer isn’t real, but it sucks worse to lose your money.
