After trying RYZE Mushroom coffee and liking the effect, but not so much the taste, I decided to give Everyday Dose a try next. Here’s the breakdown on RYZE vs. Everyday Dose and which one I liked better.

RYZE vs. Everyday Dose, The Breakdown
My first foray into the mushroom coffee realm was with RYZE Mushroom Coffee. I was sent a free bag of RYZE to try and review, but I purchased Everyday Dose on my own, so I could compare the two.
Ryze: Click here to try RYZE and save 15% with code CANDYKEANE15
Every Dose: I recommend trying it on Amazon: Everyday Dose. Otherwise, they will create a subscription you can’t cancel until 15 days after you get your product.
I removed my link to their website, because it brings up a quote I never said, and I feel it is misleading, which you can see below:

Comparing Ingredients
RYZE Mushroom Coffee combines six functional mushrooms—lion’s mane for focus, cordyceps for energy, reishi for stress relief, turkey tail for gut health, shiitake for immune support, and king trumpet for bone health—with organic Arabica Coffee, organic MCT Oil, and organic coconut milk.
Everyday Dose mushroom coffee contains lion’s mane and chaga mushrooms for cognitive and immune support and it’s enhanced with hydrolyzed collagen peptides for skin and joint health and L-theanine for stress reduction.
So, you’ll be getting more mushrooms with RYZE (each serving has 2000 MG of adaptogenic mushrooms), but Everyday Dose has the added benefit of collagen and L-theanine. I do think the big mushroom content is the reason RYZE is so earthy tasting. It’s hard to cover up the shroomy taste.
Caffeine Content
Both mushroom coffee products contain an instant coffee blend and lower caffeine than a typical cup of coffee. RYZE has 48mg, while Everyday Dose has 45mg. In comparison, a typical cup of coffee has 90-100mg of caffeine.
You can increase the caffeine boost by adding the blends to a regular cup of coffee.
There’s another option with less caffeine! Click here to read my review of RYZE mushroom matcha.

RYZE vs. Everyday Dose Taste
Here’s the thing everybody asks- what about the taste? I will honestly say that RYZE took some getting used to, and at first I couldn’t drink it first thing in the morning.
RYZE not only has an earthy taste, but a bit of a smell as well. I usually had to mix it with a little regular coffee and then a lot of sugar and creamer to cover up the taste and smell. However, I did eventually get used to and now barely notice it. But I wanted to be honest that I wasn’t sure about the smell/taste at first!
Everyday Dose on the other hand, does not smell or taste like mushrooms. It has less mushrooms, both in varieties and amounts, so it just tastes like regular instant coffee. If you were going by taste alone, Everyday Dose would win this one.
Both mushroom coffee products taste a bit like reheated coffee, but that’s pretty standard with any instant coffee. I did find Everyday Dose much easier to drink without adding a ton of sweetener to cover the taste.
Coffee Consistency
Everyday Dose was the winner for easy mixing and fully dissolving. I didn’t even have a fancy frothier like they suggest, I just mixed it with a spoon, and it all dissolved easily.
With Ryze, I always had a little sediment no matter how well I mixed. I usually had no sludge at the bottom of my cup with Everyday Dose.
I would usually just mix a little extra water with the sludge and slam it to make sure I didn’t miss any of the mushroom goodness.
Mushroom Coffee Effects
When comparing the immediate effects of RYZE vs Everyday Dose mushroom coffee, I think RYZE is the front runner here. I felt like it gave a more noticeable immediate focus boost.
Maybe it’s because it has so many mushrooms, or maybe it’s because I was mixing it with a little coffee and more sugar. But I did feel a bit more “buzzy but focused” after drinking it.
As far as long-term effects, I’m not really sure how to measure that. After drinking a full bag of RYZE over the past month, I do have an overall feeling of well-being that has stuck around. Enough so that I wanted to keep drinking it and try more mushroom coffee.
I’m two weeks into trying Everyday Dose and I don’t feel the effects are as noticeable. I really want to like this one because it tastes better! And I really like the added collagen. But I don’t feel like it packs the same punch as RYZE.
If you are wondering what the focus effect from mushroom coffee is like, specifically with RYZE, it’s like a piece of your brain gets unlocked. Or maybe it makes it so you can access more of your brain. I don’t know, but that’s what it feels like.
I was able to solve problems easier and do my work better. Like answers to issues became more easily clear and I kept going- why didn’t I see that before? This is the reason I keep going back to mushroom coffee!
The Coffee Subscription
Both companies have the annoying “subscription” set-up for ordering. So, when you place your first order, you are set up for monthly deliveries. I hate being locked into a subscription and having to remember to cancel it, so I actually just ordered Everyday Dose off Amazon so I could get a single bag.
You do of course get all kinds of goodies and a much better price if you are willing to sign up on their websites:
Ryze: Click here to try RYZE and save 15% with code CANDYKEANE15
Every Dose: Click here to save $ off your first coffee & starter kit **I would like to note that Everyday Dose makes you wait to cancel the subscription. I tried to do it after my order, and they actually said I couldn’t cancel for 15 days! So be aware of that.
Or, if you are interested in avoiding the subscription and trying it on Amazon, click here for Ryze and here for Everyday Dose.
Whichever one you choose I feel you’ll get some sort of benefit. I am a believer in the mushroom coffee! I absolutely love how you compared the two! You instilled such a sense of trust that I could walk away feeling equipped to make the right decision for me. A sincere THANK YOU!
Wow, thank you for commenting! I’m curious, which one did you choose?
Do you think that International Delight Hazelnut coffee cream would mask the shroomy taste? what did you use to mask the earthy taste and smell?
That’s actually the same one I’ve been using! It does a pretty good job of masking the taste and smell. You can tell it’s not your regular cup of coffee, but it made it more easily drinkable. It does a better job than a Sweet Cream flavor creamer.
I also tried both and agree that RYZE has a more earthy smell and taste but I actually enjoy it. The sediment is an issue but I just make a cup of tea or decaf coffee on top of it and that’s working for me. Everyday dose has a very good flavor and as you said has no earthy smell or taste. I also feel like the RYZE makes me feel more energetic and my mood is a bit better. I just started their mushroom cocoa and according to my Oura ring I’m getting deeper more restful sleep. I’ll have to go a few days without it and is if it picks up a difference. I purchased all of these myself. I think I’ll stick with RYZE and give my son the Everyday dose. Honestly they are both great products.
I completely agree with you! I feel RYZE does have a more pronounced effect, although I enjoyed the flavor of Everyday Dose more. That’s a good idea to add a new cup coffee on top of the sediment. Drinking the sludge can be a bit rough, lol.
I like to pair Ryze with Everyday Dose’s collogen creamer! Best of both worlds. Ryze creamer ads too much of a coconut smell/flavor.
I haven’t tried that, but it sounds like a great idea!
I love the comparison of the two. I also especially love the last bit where you stated that they had a fake quote from you. This makes me not trust them from the start. I appreciate your honesty. I recently purchased their (Everyday Dose) starter kit from Target and a box of their medium roast package. I liked how it is available in my local store now. I will still try Ryze coffee because I have been very interested and based on your reviews of the two. Thank you!
Thank you! After trying them both for many months now, I do feel like RYZE has the most noticeable effects. But the taste takes some getting used to, lol.
Thanks so much for your comparison. I wanted to comment on the Ryze. So I personally love coffee but with sugar and milk. Unfortunately it makes me sick and well just say regular Folgers Coffee(my fav) with the milk and sugar is like a laxative but the only way I can drink regular coffee. Coffee also makes me sleepy instead of what coffee is suppose to do. (I know im programmed weird) My grandma actually gave me her bag of Ryze in January 2025. I agree the taste was terrible I struggled as well. But my combo is Hot water Ryze a few drops of honey and I like either Vanilla Premier or the Pecan Coffee Premier shakes and I put Starbucks instant coffee not alot and not all the time. Lastly but most importantly I use Cinnamon. Top it off with some Coffee Whip and sprinkle the cinnamon on top. And oh my gosh its perfection! I absolutely can tell something is off if I dont drink it daily. I was skeptical at first but literally it works for me. I now have my mom hooked. I also dont worry about having to go to the bathroom and can enjoy my coffee each day. Absolutely love Ryze.
I agree that it doesn’t affect my stomach like regular coffee. Glad to hear you were able to find a way to make it work for you!
Thank you so much for such a great review and comparison! These days it seems difficult to find true honesty when looking for information, but this was top notch!
Thank you for your comment! That means a lot since I feel the same and strive to be honest in my reviews. There’s so much fake stuff out there!
This is the first review I’ve actually read in its entirety!! Thank you for this!! Very helpful.
Thank you, I appreciate that! Might be the first one you’ve run across actually written by a real person who’s really tried it, lol.
This was super informative and helpful. Thanks for doing so much legwork, dude.
