If you’ve ever tried to add fine rhinestones details to your fails, nails or art, then you know how tricky they can be to pick up and precisely apply! Fingers are too bulky, and half of them go shooting out of tweezers. If you’d like to add some sparkle and save yourself a bit of frustration, it’s time to check out the Dotting Tool. (Click the link to find it on Amazon fun under $10!)
And not just any Dotting Tool, but one with a wax tip! That’s the magic part that easily picks up the tiniest of stones and then you can put them anywhere you want. Watch my video at the end of the post to see it in action.
The Tool You Didn’t Know You Needed
Why a whole post about a tiny tool? Because I kept seeing other makeup artists on Insta and TikTok using this mystery tool when they were applying rhinestones. It made it look so much easier and more precise than my tweezer method. I had no idea there was a tool that could make sticking rhinestones to your face easier, but there it was!
The problem is that none of them ever said what it was. And it wasn’t mentioned in the credits. So I had to search for it, but I had no idea what it was called. I tried “rhinestone picker-upper” and “rhinestone face tool” and various things until dotting tools came up. But most of them were the metal type with the little ball on the end, used often in nail art.
After a bit more scrolling and searching I finally found the one in the photo above, ordered it, and love it! A million times easier. Now I just put little dots of eyelash glue where I want the stones to be, pick them up with the dotter and dot them on.
