I got an e-mail today supposedly from Rob Dyrdek Management titled: Exclusive Invitation. Inside was the same old Facebook stealing podcast scam. If you found this post searching for Rob Dyrdek scam, I’m sorry to say that it’s all a bit of ridiculousness.

The Podcast Scam E-mail
Here is the e-mail they send out:
Hi, Hope you are doing well.
I represent Rob Dyrdek Management.
We are delighted to extend an exclusive invitation for you to participate in our online podcast event hosted by Rob Dyrdek.
A podcast session, it will be a random discussion about music, dance entertainment, general life, nature, struggles of life etc. What is most fulfilling about your passion, , your remarkable journey of entrepreneurship, human rights, and social issues, including socialism. You can also talk about your lifestyle, thoughts, and personality. We’ve selected Facebook as our podcast platform, and it will be live on Facebook pages.
Your participation in the podcast episode will be compensated as well.
Regards, Rob Dyrdek LLC
How This Scam Works
If this is your first time running across this scam, it’s an attempt to take over your Facebook page. You most likely have a verified page with 100k+ followers, or something close to that. The scammers want to steal it for various reasons- to put ads on it, to take your subscriber money, to hold it for ransom. All these things have happened to other people who’ve had their pages stolen.
The name keeps changing, but the scam remains the same. If you reply back, they will eagerly schedule a Zoom session with you to supposedly help you set up for the podcast on Facebook.
To make things easy, they will suggest a screen share. It is during the screen share when they will remove you as admin and take over the page.
Rob Dyrdek is Not Involved
The scammers pick popular podcasters and impersonate their management. The actual people being named have nothing to do with it and are usually completely unaware their names are being associated with this scam.
Rob Dyrdek is an American entrepreneur, actor, producer, reality TV star, and former professional skateboarder. He is best known for his roles in reality shows like “Rob & Big” and “Ridiculousness.”
Dyrdek has also been involved in various business ventures and philanthropic activities throughout his career. But what he has not been involved in is this Facebook scam! Unfortunately, he’s just the latest celeb to be impersonated in this scam that will not go away.
