Biography Bottles, X-Men Writers, Tie Dye and Teen Titans Raven

This past week we made a biography bottle of Roy Keane for my son’s class project, I considered adding a new mutant to my guest posting line-up, we learned how to tie dye and I did a cosplay guide for Raven from Teen Titans.

Meet Roy Keane, Bottle Person

For the last school project of the year, my son had to create a Biography Bottle, which is a bottle made to look like a historical figure. He also had to do a report about the person.

He chose soccer legend Roy Keane, as he’s also a cousin on his dad’s side. (I’m a Keane by marriage)

I tried to help without doing the project for him, and it was a bit of a challenge to figure out how he could bring Roy Keane to life without sewing him a soccer uniform. So, we made it with craft foam sheets and glue.

I think he did a pretty good job! Click here to read all about the Biography Bottle Project and how we made it.

My Guest Writers are all X-Men and Nobody Noticed

I often publish guest posts and used to put them all under “Guest Geek” as the author. WordPress makes each author have their own account to add them to a post, so it was easiest to round everyone up under the “Guest Geek” title.

As the post topics have branched out, Guest Geek no longer really fit. As many of them are about things I wouldn’t normally write about, I didn’t feel right to publish them under my name. I solved the problem by adding a couple guest authors who also happen to be members of the X-Men at some time.

Alison Blaire (aka Dazzler) and Logan James Howlett (Wolverine) have been cranking out guest posts for the past few months and nobody seems to have noticed. And here I thought I had a geeky readership, lol.

To round things out I was planning on adding a new guest writer soon. Suggestions welcome!

Trying Our Hand at Tie-Dyeing

My son has been obsessed with tie-dye lately so I thought it would be neat to get him a kit to make his own shirts. For his recent birthday, I got the Tulip Tie-Dye kit and a pack of four white t-shirts.

The kit was really easy to use, and we could have made way more than just four shirts! We tried out making a swirl, bullseye and random patterns. They are turned out pretty good!

Teen Titan Raven Cosplay Guide

Switching tracks from Marvel to DC, last week I did a new Raven cosplay and created a cosplay guide with the details on where I got all the pieces like the leotard, cape, belt and wig.

I set up a green screen in my home selfie studio and did some fun “floating” pics.

That wraps up another week. This week I’m going to try and shoot a couple new cosplay ideas and get all caught up on work before I head out on a very fun girl’s weekend getaway to Savannah with my friends Heather and Jenna from Wicked Beauty spa and salon.
