Watch as I try Beef Rinds LIVE for the first time! I like to consider myself an adventurous eater, and I like to try new things. So when Holy Cow contacted me about trying their new Holy Cow Beef Rinds I figured I’d give them a try. They are made from 100% grass-fed beef skin sourced from sustainable farms throughout the Pacific Northwest, and are a unique and healthier alternative to pork rinds. I don’t normally eat pork rinds either, and I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect besides them being crunchy. I can promise you, yes, they are crunchy!
The Holy Cow Story
With millions of people eating beef, but less people buying leather, tons of cowhides are going to waste and just being thrown away ever year. Holy Cow started working with small farmers to reduce their waste output and transform the cowhides into a nutrient-dense beef rind snack. The beef rinds are keto and paleo-friendly and come in four flavors: Himalayan Spice, Lime Zest, Hot Pepper and original No Salt. They also contain 8g of Protein, 7000mg of Bovine Collagen, 0 Carbs, only 80 Calories and are rich in beneficial amino acids. So What Did I Think of the Taste?
So honestly, I was not a fan. They were a little too…beefy tasting for me. But I’m also not a fan of pork rinds so I imagine if you were into the crunchy skin treat, you would totally be into these. The flavoring on it was good, but there was just something about the texture and aftertaste I didn’t like. I don’t eat a lot of potato chips or savory snacks, so I am possibly the worst person to taste test these! But I was intrigued by the possibly of a healthier snack, and trying something new. It was worth a shot! So I while I didn’t like them, my husband thought both flavors were pretty tasty.
