Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank arrives in theaters July 15, 2022 and brings a new twist to a comedy classic. The story of an underdog who becomes a hero to a town full of cats is a new animated children’s movie very loosely based on Mel Brooks’ 1974 movie Blazing Saddles.

Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank
Paws of Fury stars Hank (voiced by Michael Cera), a hard-on-his-luck hound who finds himself in a town full of cats who need a hero. There’s a ruthless villain (Ricky Gervais) with an evil plot to wipe out their entire village. Hank steps up to be trained as the town samurai with a little help from a reluctant teacher (Samuel L. Jackson).
The only problem… everybody knows cats hate dogs!
Also starring Mel Brooks, George Takei, Aasif Mandvi, Gabriel Iglesias, Djimon Hounsou, Michelle Yeoh, Kylie Kuioka, and Cathy Shim. Rated PG
Update: We went and saw the movie yesterday and it was cute. I read some reviews that said the toilet humor was over the top, but it wasn’t really. Unless you count the actual giant jade toilet statue! But overall it has a good message about not judging people just because of how they look or what they are.
