Want to sip wine, spot dolphins, and soak up a little St. Augustine history all at once? A wine tasting cruise around the bayfront with Florida Water Tours is a fun way to experience the city from the water.
Keep reading for our review of the cruise, what to expect onboard, and why it’s worth adding to your St. Augustine itinerary.

St. Augustine Wine Tasting Cruise
Florida Water Tours offers a unique experience with their wine tasting cruise around the St. Augustine bayfront. We went in May 2026 and had a great experience! Click here to check out the tour on their website.
This adults-only cruise is designed for guests 21 and up and costs $45 per person. The experience lasts about 90 minutes and includes samples of six wines for you to sip while you enjoy the beautiful scenery.
Between the wine tastings, you can relax on the water, look for dolphins, and listen to interesting local history and wildlife info shared by the crew.

Checking In
The office was easy to find at Camachee Cove Marina. After checking in for the tour, we were given directions to the boat.
The woman at the front desk was very helpful and even showed us photos of what to look for so we could easily find our way.
The Boat
Our boat for the cruise was the Great Blue Heron. It was spacious and comfortable, with plenty of seating and enough room to move around without feeling crowded.
Most of the boat is covered, which made it easy to stay cool and shaded during the ride, though the seats at the very front were open to the sun.
The boat also has onboard bathrooms, which is always a plus during a longer cruise. There’s a small bar as well where you can purchase additional beer, wine, canned cocktails, and non-alcoholic drinks throughout the trip.

The Wine Tasting
The wine tasting includes samples of three white wines and three reds. The selections rotate regularly, so the wines are not always the same, and one of the featured wines is locally made, which adds a nice St. Augustine touch to the experience.
Before each pour, the crew shares a little information about the wine, including where it’s from and what type of wine it is. It gave the tasting a more personal feel and made it fun to learn about each selection as we cruised around the bayfront.

Each tasting was about a 2-ounce pour, which felt like the perfect amount. There was plenty of time to sip and enjoy each wine before the next one was served, so the experience never felt rushed.
If you end up finding a favorite, you can purchase another glass from the onboard bar or pick up a bottle from the gift shop after the cruise.
You also get your own personal charcuterie cone with artisan meats, cheeses, fruit and crackers.

The Cruise
The cruise gives you great views of several historic St. Augustine landmarks:
- Castillo de San Marcos (The Fort)
- Mission Nombre de Dios (The Big Cross)
- Bridge of Lions
- St. Augustine Lighthouse

We were also lucky enough to see several dolphins, all over the place. In fact, I’ve never seen that many dolphins at once on any cruise I’ve been on! There was even a baby dolphin. So cute!
We took lots of dolphin videos and got to watch them for the last half of the tour. Wine on a boat + dolphins = a great time!
