It’s been a while since my last Keane Interest post due to nothing much interesting happening lately. But this week we actually got out and went to the Spooktacular at the zoo! I also hosted a Spin Master RC Play Time Party for Tryazon, tried out a new CBD tincture and am looking forward to Halloween even with all the weird COVID stuff.
Jacksonville Zoo Spooktacular
This was our first time attending the Spooktacular Halloween celebration at the Jacksonville Zoo. I feel like I’m out of practice covering events so I didn’t get many photos! The zoo is decorated for Halloween with light-up pumpkins, scarecrows and glowing eyes in the greenery. They also have candy stations set up for the kids to trick-or-treat along the way so make sure you bring a candy bag. We didn’t have one but luckily the very first candy spot also has small bags.
This event is more about Halloween than the animals, as many of the areas are closed off. There’s an area with a hay maze that was a big hit with the kids and a lot of non-scary fun to be had. There’s also a special Scare Zone that they recommend for ages 10 and up. We braved it anyway and it scared the pants off the kids and left one crying. He recovered quickly enough to score more candy and enjoy the rest of the zoo.
If you are thinking of going, you’ll need to get tickets ahead of time online. Due to COVID restrictions, the event attendance limit is capped and evenings are selling out. The event runs Oct. 23-31st from 5-8PM.
Spin Master RC Play Time Party
If it dips below 80 degrees, then we light the firepit and gather with neighbors. This time we also had some new toys to try out thanks to Spin Master and Tryazon. The kids went crazy over the Monster Jam Megalodon Storm, Ninja Bots and Air Hogs Stunt Shot. You can read more about the toys in the full blog post: Megalodons Ninja Bots and Air Hogs, Oh My!
43 CBD and Me
I am a fan of CBD so I’m always happy to try out a new brand. 43 CBD sent me a sample of their CBD salve and 1000 mg tincture to try out. Their product is certified organic and grown in Colorado.
I liked the tincture’s natural and mild hempy taste and found it effective for calming my anxiety. Since my panic attack incident a few months ago, I always keep CBD nearby when I feel the anxiety start ratcheting up in my chest. One dropperful can usually make it go away, and do it without making me feel tired or sleepy.
I haven’t found a favorite use yet for the salve. I usually use CBD salves on my hands when they feel weird and stiff from arthritis, but this one is too oily for that. It does make a nice lip balm though!
43 CBD is currently offering free shipping on orders over $100 and 20% coupon for October: croptober2020
Ready for Halloween!
