The first week of school has come to an end and we are back on our regular schedule, which means I get to have a regular blog schedule again! And with that is the return of the weekly round-up post that has gone through many names, most recently “Editor’s Picks.” I’m just going to keep that heading but not put it in the title because it takes up valuable space. So with that, let’s jump into the Week in Review:
First Day of School
My little man is in 3rd grade now! He’s getting so big so fast it’s just crazy how time goes by. We rode bikes on his first day and got to walk him to his classroom. He picked out his cool button-up shark shirt for his first day of school outfit. You’ll probably see it pop up again on school picture day.
All went well with his first day. He likes his teacher and he thought getting to switch classrooms for math and science was pretty neat.

The chalkboard above is by Cohas Art Milestone Boards and yes it says Happy New Year! LOL But it is a New Year of 3rd Grade! So it works.
Delicious Coastal Dining at AB Kitchen
On Tuesday I finally got to check out the new AB Kitchen in the Beaches Town Center for lunch and it did not disappoint! They have a coastal focused menu with fresh seafood and local Mayport shrimp. Once you have Mayport shrimp, you never want any other type.
I had the tuna poke bowl and one of their wine-based cocktails called Summer in AB. Both were delicious!

AB Kitchen is located at: 299 Atlantic Blvd, Atlantic Beach, FL 32233
P&G Good Everyday
I signed up for the P&G Good Everyday program, where you can earn points for purchasing P&G products and answering surveys. You also get free coupons and chances to enter sweepstakes. I figured it was worth a try, and I get a bonus when other people sign up too!
Check it out and sign up at:
Our Long-Awaited Pineapple
One of the highlights of the week was an event three years in the making- a pineapple! We grew the pineapple by planting the top of another pineapple. It took a long time to produce fruit, and it was a bit small, but we did it! We have about six other pineapple plants around the yard and I’m looking forward to more pineapples.
