Finally, an easy to find and print for free, Elf on the Shelf return letter and fun idea for your elf return! Have you been trying to find a free Elf Return Letter and just keep finding blogs that want you to download some program, sign up for something or you can’t even find the letter at all?
That’s what happened to me! So, I made my own and am sharing it for all you other frustrated parents out there, along with a great return idea to go with the letter. I cannot tell you how many blogs I visited that were so bogged down with junk I couldn’t find their free printable.

*I have fixed the typo that is in the poem in the pic and added a new file to download!
What to Do with Your Elf Return Letter
First print out the letter and sign it with your elf’s name. Make it a little messy. I used my left hand to sign ours.
Next, fold it into a paper airplane. That’s how the elf flew all night to get there! (click here if you need help folding it into an airplane)
Oh my, he crash landed into the tree! (he can also land other places if your tree isn’t up yet)
Stick the plane and elf into the tree and you’re done.

You are also welcome to use my poem to make your own return letter! Just please don’t use it for publishing, as I wrote it myself just for this.
Return of the Elf
Straight from the North Pole, on this airplane I flew.
All through the snow, to get back to you!
I’ll be here watching, until Christmas day.
And reporting to Santa, so watch what you say!
Remember no touching, to keep my magic alight.
And each day I’ll move, spreading joy and delight.
So do your best, because Santa checks twice,
And he always finds out, who’s naughty or nice.
I can’t wait to have, so much fun while I stay,
And I be here with you, until Christmas Eve day.
