Bowsette is a fan created mash-up of Bowser and Princess Peach from Super Mario that was totally embraced by Super Mario fans and the cosplay community. This Bowsette cosplay guide covers how I put together the outfit, along with links on where to purchase the items, or how make them yourself.

Who is Bowsette?
The character was originally created on September 19, 2018, by Ayyk92, a Malaysian online artist, as part of a comic strip he posted to Twitter. Bowsette is a fusion of Princess Peach from the Super Mario series and Bowser, the primary antagonist of the same series. The concept became popular after the release of the Nintendo Switch game “Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe,” where Toadette could use a power-up called the Super Crown to transform into Peachette.
The idea of other characters using the Super Crown to transform into Peach-like versions sparked fan creativity, and Bowsette emerged as a mash-up of Bowser and Princess Peach. Artists and cosplayers started creating their own interpretations and artwork of Bowsette, which quickly spread across social media platforms.
Bowsette is not an official Nintendo character, but many fans think she should be!
Bowsette Cosplay Guide
Bowsette can be interpreted any way you want, you just need to incorporate elements of Princess Peach, Bowser and the Super Crown. I even recently did my own version where I added a Christmas element with a Krampus/Bowsette mash-up.

The Super Crown
This is usually a gold crown with a pink mushroom top and two little eyes in front. Also referred to as the Mushroom Crown, the Super Crown is the key to the Bowser/Peach transformation.
You can find a really nice one on Amazon, or 3D print your own if you happen to have a 3D Printer. I found our printer file for free on Thingiverse. I used the basic small crown printed with gold filament and added my own mushroom top using felt.

Bowser Horns
Bowser horns can also be purchased, or 3D Printed. I had mine printed by Scarlet Moon Designs and then painted them white. I then attached the horns and crown to a thin metal headband. The print file for the Bowser horns is also available for free on Thingiverse.

The Bowsette Cosplay Dress
The typical Bowsette outfit is a strapless black bustier top with sweetheart neckline and blue jewel. It can be a bodysuit with attached bustle, or a skirt of any length.
I started with this costume off Amazon and was really impressed with how well it fit! I’m tall and it was long enough for me not to feel like I had to keep tugging it up. It also stayed up pretty well without straps. I did need to steam out a lot of wrinkles to make it look good, but once I did that the bustle fluffed out really nice.
The exact one I bought is the one pictured above, by C-ZOFEK. I usually order a Medium to Large size and went with the Large on this and it fit perfect. I also really liked that it came with the studded necklace, arm and wrist pieces because that’s one less thing you have to buy!

Pointy Ears
I don’t even think Bowser has ears, but for some reason Bowsette is usually shown as having pointy ears. You can easily create this effect with Elf Ear Cuffs. These just slip behind your ear and create an elongated effect. You don’t need any adhesive or latex.

Fangs
Bowser himself has a mouth full of fangs, but just two will do for Bowsette! I wear Scarecrow Classic Vampire Fangs, which you custom mold to your teeth. They are very comfortable to wear and stay on really well.

Bowsette’s Hair
Bowsette is pictured with either blond or red hair. Peach is blond and Bowser is a redhead, so take your pick. You can also do your hair down or up in a ponytail. One thing they all have in common is the long bangs split into three sections with the middle section pointed.
There are many wigs available for this if you search, but I couldn’t find one a liked and ended up using an old blond wig. I cut the bangs and used hair gel to hold the bangs into the pointed shape.
Bowsette’s Red Eyes
Bowser has red eyes, and Peach has blue, so either color will work. I went for the red and used contacts from MocoQueen. I’ve had great luck with their contacts and regularly order my cosplay ones from them.

Koopa Backpack
If you are attending a convention, adding the Koopa backpack is a must! It mimics Bowser’s shell and holds all your stuff. Click here to find the Koopa Backpack.
Bowsette’s Makeup
Bowsette has heavy black eye makeup with winged eyeliner, lush lashes and either pink or red lips. Click here to see my Bowsette make-up tutorial on Instagram.
Final Touches
I added black fishnet stockings, but Bowsette is often pictured with black thigh highs. You can also add blue earrings like Peach wears, and studded leg bands that match the arm bands. Long point claw-like nails are also a nice touch. For an added layer of drama and warmth, a statement faux fur coat—like the ones from SpiritHoods—makes the ultimate Bowsette-approved finishing piece.
