Almost every year I’ve done a Valentine’s Day post, gift guide and a special Valentine card tutorial, but this year I fell behind and didn’t do any of that. So, here’s my follow-up Valentine’s Day post because my husband and son put a lot of thought into my gift this year and I wanted to remember it. They said they wanted to do a basket of all my favorite things.

Happy Valentine’s Day
The flowers were actually from a few days before. They were waiting for me when I came home from my Missouri Comic Con trip. But the rest is all for V-day: chocolate dipped strawberries, a bottle of sake, a bottle of pre-mixed cosmopolitan, a bottle of Pinot Grigio, an IPA, a stick of pepperoni (it goes great with the IPA), some fancy crackers, two packages of my favorite and hard to find Red Dragon cheese and a Money Tree plant.
Obviously, my family has my drink order down, lol. The snacks and treats were the perfect addition, and I was actually pretty excited about the plant! I have been telling my husband for years that I would prefer a plant over cut flowers. I do love flowers, but when you get a bouquet, it ends up slowly dying and I’m the one cleaning up after it every day, rewatering and eventually throwing it out.
I love getting a plant that will continue to live long past the holiday. I’ve never had a Money Tree plant before, so I’m excited to learn how to care for it.
And Now My Gift, from 365 Canvas
One thing I did have ready this year in advance was the gift for my husband! I got him this Custom Song Lyric canvas print from 365 Canvas, which has the lyrics to our wedding song and our wedding date at the bottom. It would make a great anniversary gift too!
The song for our first official dance as husband and wife was In Your Eyes by Peter Gabriel. About halfway through the song, we got tired of just swaying to the music and danced our way over the DJ and told him to put on our next song- Rock This Town by the Stray Cats. We had taken swing dance lessons in college, and busted out every fancy move we knew.
That amounts to about three moves, (the sugar push, basket and a few spins) but we made it work! And we invited everyone to join us on the dance floor as well.

365 Canvas actually has tons of neat, personalized gift options. The canvas was really well done and arrived ready to hang without the need to add a frame.

My previous Valentine posts have me being sick, or my husband deployed, and this one is a week late. I don’t know what it is with February, but it’s a tough month to get things done on time! But I try to remind myself I’ll get to everything eventually.
I hope you all had a great Valentine’s Day. I know I had a good one this year, finally!
