I was intrigued by the ads for Rythm Health claiming they offer “the world’s easiest blood test.” According to the company, the process is not only easy but painless as well. Curious to see if it lived up to the hype, I signed up to try it for myself. Here’s my personal review of Rythm Health, including my experience, the cost, and whether I’d recommend it.
This is an independent Rythm Health review, and no free product or monetary compensation was provided. I do, however, have a referral link for $20 off your first order: https://rythm.health/candy (And I get a $20 credit if you use it, so thank you for supporting my blog.)

What I Chose to Try Rythm Health
As a woman going through menopause and currently on hormone therapy, I have bloodwork done about every three months to monitor my hormone levels. Usually, that means scheduling an appointment, driving to a lab, and having blood drawn the traditional way with a needle inserted into a vein in my arm.
When I saw the ads for Rythm, the option to draw blood at home, and the promise of a pain-free experience hooked me. That blood draw at the lab is usually a bit ouchy, and sometimes I get bruised for days.
I went to the Rythm Health website, and they had a Mother’s Day special for 15% off. My total came to $91.75. You can see the breakdown for all the costs associated with the order below.

Getting Started with Rythm Health
Signing up was very easy and took about five minutes. I just had to give my name, sex and birthday and then pay for the order.
I also opted for text message alerts for when they ship the kit and when my results are ready. Right away, I got an email confirmation and a text to let me know my order was received.
I continued to get updates when it shipped, and when it arrived a few days later. The instructions say to fast the night before (8-12 hours) and do your collection first thing in the morning, after drinking a large glass of water.
Taking Your Blood Sample
The package arrives with everything you need to collect your sample: the device to collect blood, a heat pad, alcohol wipe, gauze, bandage, sample bag, shipping container and envelope.
They also text and e-mail you a video that shows you exactly what to do.
You’ll need to assemble the blood drawing device by snapping the collection tube into the bottom. That was pretty easy!
Then you prep your arm by swiping the alcohol pad over where you plan to stick the device.
Next, pop the silver disc inside the heat pad and it automatically heats up. Pretty cool to watch! You’ll need to hold the heating pad on your upper arm for four minutes, which helps get the blood flowing.
Next, peel the sticker off the back of the device and stick it to your arm.
Then take the cape off the red button! This is where I messed up at first and tried pressing it with the cap on, and nothing happened.

Is Rythm Health Really Painless?
Once I realized my mistake, I took off the cap and then got ready to press the button. I was honestly a little scared!
I pressed it until it made a clicking noise, and I felt… nothing! It was totally painless!
But I didn’t see any blood flowing into the tube. The man in the video said it may take a minute to get going, but I got worried I didn’t press it hard enough, since I didn’t feel a thing.
Right as I went to press it again, I saw blood in the tube and realized I did it right, and it really didn’t hurt at all.
You need to wait for the tube to fill completely up with blood before removing it. It doesn’t hurt when you peel it off.

After you press the gauze to your arm and stick on the cute little round bandage, you’ll remove the tube from the bottom and put the cap on it.
If you are scared of blood, then you won’t like this part, because the blood looks thick and gooey when you separate the tube, and there’s a bit of blood on the top of the device. I was anxious about accidentally splattering everything with blood, but it twisted off pretty easily, so there was no need to worry.
There’s a chemical in the tube that mixes with the blood that keeps it fresh during transport, so it’s important to turn the vial up and down ten times to make sure it is mixed well.
You can then either schedule a pick-up with Fed-Ex, or opt to drop it off yourself. To schedule a pick-up, you need a 4-hour window you will be home.
I chose to drop mine off at the Fed-Ex inside Walgreens. It took until later that evening before the status updated on the Rythm website, and I got a text confirming my sample was scanned and on its way to the lab.
By the way, if you are wondering what it is that pokes you to get the blood, it’s a tiny razor blade. And no, you really don’t feel it at all. But this is the small cut it leaves:

Getting My Blood Test Results
I got updates when the lab got my sample, and another update when my results were ready. I sent it off on Monday and had results by Wednesday afternoon!
It was very easy to find my test results on the website. They were also easy to read and understand.
The results tell you what is in the optimal range, average and out of range.
The sections covered are:
Hormone Balance
Metabolic Efficiency
Heart Health
You can click on any results, and it will explain what it is and how you can improve it. You can also ask questions for each result.
It will recommend what types of food to eat, how much, and what to avoid.
You will get a Rhythm Score and Biological Age after your second collection.
A Word of Caution About Your Results
Most of my results matched my most recent bloodwork, but my testosterone level came back unnaturally high. Like, so high that I would definitely notice something was off if it were true!
I contacted my doctor, who prescribes my hormone therapy, and they mentioned that at-home blood tests are notoriously inaccurate when trying to test testosterone levels in women.
After some research, I found that at-home blood tests are often inaccurate when testing testosterone levels in women because women naturally produce much lower amounts of testosterone than men. Many at-home tests are not sensitive enough to accurately measure these tiny hormone levels, which can lead to misleading results.
One of the biggest issues is the type of testing method used. Many direct-to-consumer hormone tests rely on immunoassays, which are cheaper and commonly used but less reliable at detecting the low testosterone ranges typical in women.
These tests can easily overestimate or underestimate levels. More advanced laboratory methods, such as liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS), are considered far more accurate, but they are not always used in at-home kits.
Next month, I plan to follow up my Rythm blood test with a lab blood test on the same day and compare the results. So, check back if you want to find out how accurate it is!
Would I Recommend Rythm Health?
I would 100% recommend Rythm Health for everything but testing testosterone in women. It was super easy and totally painless. Way better than going to a lab.
It’s a great way to check your cholesterol and other important levels, and see if your lifestyle changes are making a healthy difference.

Frequently Asked Questions About Rythm Health
What Is Rythm Health?
Rythm Health is an at-home blood testing service that allows users to collect a blood sample themselves and mail it to a laboratory for analysis. The company focuses on making blood testing easier and more convenient by eliminating the need for a traditional lab visit.
How Much Does Rythm Health Cost?
Pricing varies depending on promotions and discounts available at the time of purchase. During my order, I took advantage of a Mother’s Day promotion and paid $91.75 after the discount. My second order at regular price came to $101.
Is Rythm Health Really Painless?
In my experience, yes. After activating the collection device, I felt virtually nothing when it collected the sample. The process was much more comfortable than a traditional blood draw from a vein.
How Does the Rythm Health Blood Collection Process Work?
The kit includes everything needed to collect your sample at home, including the blood collection device, heat pad, alcohol wipe, gauze, bandage, sample tube, and prepaid shipping materials. After collecting the sample, you either schedule a FedEx pickup or drop it off at a FedEx location.
Do You Have to Fast Before Using Rythm Health?
Yes. The instructions recommend fasting for 8 to 12 hours before collecting your sample and drinking a large glass of water beforehand. Collection should be done first thing in the morning.
How Long Does It Take to Get Rythm Health Results?
My sample was mailed on a Monday and my results were available by Wednesday afternoon. The company provides text and email updates throughout the process, including when your sample arrives at the lab and when your results are ready.
What Does the Rythm Health Test Measure?
The test includes information related to hormone balance, metabolic efficiency, and heart health. Results are displayed in easy-to-understand categories, including optimal, average, and out-of-range values.
Are Rythm Health Results Easy to Understand?
Yes. The online dashboard explains each result and provides information about what it means. The platform also offers nutrition and lifestyle recommendations based on your results.
Is Rythm Health Accurate?
Most of my results closely matched recent laboratory bloodwork. However, my testosterone result was significantly higher than expected. Because at-home hormone testing can be less accurate for measuring testosterone in women, I recommend discussing any unexpected results with your healthcare provider.
Why Can Testosterone Testing Be Inaccurate in Women?
Women naturally produce much lower levels of testosterone than men. Some testing methods used in direct-to-consumer blood tests may not be sensitive enough to accurately measure these lower levels, which can sometimes lead to inaccurate results.
Is Rythm Health Better Than Going to a Lab?
For convenience and comfort, I preferred Rythm Health over a traditional blood draw. The process was simple, fast, and painless. However, if you need highly specialized testing or confirmation of certain hormone levels, your doctor may recommend traditional laboratory testing.
Would You Recommend Rythm Health?
Based on my experience, I would recommend Rythm Health for general wellness monitoring, cholesterol checks, and tracking many health markers over time. The at-home collection process was easy and painless. My only reservation would be relying solely on the testosterone results if you are a woman, as additional laboratory confirmation may be worthwhile.
Does Rythm Health Offer a Referral Discount?
Yes. New customers can receive $20 off their first order using my referral link https://rythm.health/candy. If you use the link, I also receive a referral credit, which helps support my blog. Thank you if you do!

The test was simple, the hard part was getting through to FedEx to pick it up!
I haven’t tried the pickup yet. I keep dropping it off instead of waiting for the pickup.
