I love finding ways to add a personal touch to our events, especially when it involves something beautiful that we can actually use. I recently got a custom cutting board from Forest Décor, engraved with the logo for our family’s mezcal brand, O’Kahan Agave.
We do events and mezcal tastings, and I thought a personalized wood board would look great on the table. The natural wood finish and rustic live edge were exactly the look I wanted, and the finished board turned out beautifully.

Personalizing My Cutting Board with Our Logo
For my board, I sent Forest Décor the O’Kahan Agave logo. Before making it, they sent me a digital mockup so I could see how the design would look on the wood.
I appreciated being able to preview it first. With a custom logo, you want to know that the placement and overall look work before the engraving is done. The mockup looked great, and the finished board matched what I had hoped for.
You can see how great the logo turned out below:
The board also arrived very quickly. From seeing the preview to opening the package, the process felt easy, and I was thrilled with how it turned out.

The Natural Wood and Live Edge Make It Stand Out
My board is the personalized rustic olive wood board with a live edge, in the 16 × 7-inch size. Forest Décor quoted $120 for the size I received; check the product page for current pricing and available options.
The quality is obvious when you see it in person. It’s a really great-looking board, and I especially love the combination of the natural wood finish, the engraving, and the irregular edge. A live edge follows the wood’s natural outline, giving the board a more organic shape.

Why Olive Wood Works for Cutting and Serving Boards
Olive wood is known for its distinctive grain and durability. The swirling patterns and variations in color give each board its own appearance, so two boards with the same engraving can still look different.
According to Forest Décor, its olive wood comes from Tunisia and Italy, using older olive trees that no longer produce fruit. The natural grain is part of what makes these boards so appealing as both kitchen tools and serving pieces.
Olive wood can be used for food preparation, but it also makes a beautiful backdrop for cheese, bread, fruit, and other small bites. For my purposes, the serving and presentation side is a big draw. I wanted something that would complement our mezcal tastings and show off the O’Kahan Agave logo.
Like other wooden cutting boards, an olive wood board needs careful washing and occasional maintenance to keep it looking its best.

More Than 200 Personalized Cutting Board Options
Forest Décor has more than 200 options in its personalized cutting boards collection, with choices in olive wood, walnut, maple, and bamboo.
You can personalize a board with names and a wedding date, a family name and an established year, or a logo like I did. They also offer personalized recipe cutting boards that reproduce a recipe in someone’s actual handwriting.
I love that idea for preserving a favorite family recipe. A handwritten recipe on a wood board would make such a meaningful gift, especially when the handwriting belongs to someone special.
The company offers a free digital preview and advertises fast processing, with most personalized orders shipping within 24 hours. Shipping time is separate from processing, so check the delivery estimate if you’re ordering for a particular occasion.
How to Care for a Wood Cutting Board
A wood cutting board needs a little care to protect its finish and shape.
- Hand-wash with warm water and mild dish soap.
- Avoid soaking it or putting it in the dishwasher.
- Towel-dry promptly, then let it air-dry upright with airflow around both sides.
- Store away from heat, and don’t use it as a trivet for hot cookware.
If you have an engraved board, you might want to consider using the plain side for chopping and slicing to help preserve the engraving.
When and How to Oil the Board
Forest Décor says its boards arrive pre-oiled, so mine doesn’t need an immediate oil treatment. Oiling becomes useful when the wood looks dry, dull, or faded.
Use food-grade mineral oil or a conditioner made for wooden cutting boards.
- Clean the board and let it dry completely.
- Apply oil with a clean cloth to both faces and the edges.
- Leave it to absorb overnight, following the oil’s directions.
- Wipe away any excess before using it.
Check it monthly if used regularly; occasional-use boards may need oil less often. Let the wood’s condition guide you.

Very Happy with My Forest Décor Cutting Board
I’m really happy with how my custom cutting board turned out. The board arrived quickly, and the finished engraving looked perfect.
The natural olive wood and rustic live edge are what make it feel special to me. It’s something I’m excited to include in our event setup, and I can see the appeal as a personalized gift, family keepsake, or branded serving piece.
If you’re looking for a custom cutting board, Forest Décor’s personalized cutting board collection offers plenty of ways to make one your own.
