Heading to Missouri Comic Con this Weekend

    February 9, 2024 - By

I’m a long way from Florida at the moment, up in Missouri to take my sister to her very first comic con. We are attending Missouri Comic Con, at the Springfield Expo Center this weekend, February 10 and 11. If you are wondering how I have a sister that’s never attended a con, well I didn’t even know about her until my mid 20s and we didn’t meet until many years later. January 23, 2021 - By

The first Geek of the Week for 2021 also happens to be a long-time friend of mine, from way back in the early days of cosplay. I met Victoria Avalor through a mutual affinity for dressing like Slave Leia and gathering in groups at conventions like SDCC and DragonCon. She also modeled corsets and costumes for my store when I had a costume shop. Now you can find her writing books, studying Egyptology and playing part-time princess when she’s not teaching her preschool class. Please introduce yourself: Hi! I’m Victoria Avalor and I have been cosplaying since 2006. I work…

Geek of the Week: Mike Crowder of Gray Sheep Graphics

    July 8, 2020 - By

Our latest Geek of the Week is Mike Crowder of Gray Sheep Graphics, who also happens to be a children’s book author with one fun ABC book out and a new book coming soon. Mike knows a thing or two about comics, the difference between science fiction and science fantasy, and breaks it all down for us in this interview as he answers my ten geeky questions. 1) Introduce yourself: Howdy Soaks!  I mean Folks! My name is Mike Crowder, and I’m an illustrator by trade, and a children’s author by accident. My website is GraySheepGraphics.com 2) What do you geek…
