This Vegamour HYDR-8 line review covers immediate impressions of the products plus an update from over a year later, and my honest thoughts after using it for some time.
Vegamour sent me their HYDR-8 line, including the shampoo and conditioner kit, deep repair mask and leave-in conditioner with heat protectant to try and review. So, in full disclosure, I did receive free product to review, but all opinions expressed are honest and my own.

Vegamour Shampoo and Conditioner Review
The Vegamour HYDR-8 Shampoo and Conditioner Kit has a light soapy smell. I’m not sure how to describe it. Sort of herbal, not perfumey either. The smell is OK. Not bad, but not my favorite.
The first thing I liked about the shampoo and conditioner was the cap style. You twist to open and close. So, there’s no cap that comes off to try and keep track of. I thought it was very convenient.
According to the product info, the hydrating shampoo effectively cleanses the hair without stripping away its natural oils, while the conditioner works to restore moisture, leaving your hair soft, manageable, and less prone to breakage.
The combination of these two products ensures your hair receives the hydration it craves, giving it a healthy and vibrant appearance.
The shampoo suds up nicely. I did two washes and then applied the repair mask, which I’ll talk about in the next section.
I did feel like I needed conditioning after the shampoo. Overall, it was my least favorite of the set. (*It’s almost two years later and I still have the shampoo!)
I followed that with the regular conditioner. I honestly really liked it! And I am picky about conditioners. They have to pass my “shower test.” If I can’t easily comb through my hair in the shower after using them, then I don’t like them.
The HYDR-8 conditioner made my hair soft and smooth and easy to comb through, which earns it 5 stars from me! Photos of my hair below are after using the Shampoo, Conditioner, Repair Mask and a little Leave-In Conditioner. My hair was easy to comb and responded well to the blow drying and heat styling.

HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Mask Review
For those seeking an extra boost of hydration, Vegamour’s HYDR-8 Deep Moisture Repair Mask is a restorative hair mask that they recommend using once or twice a week.
This luxurious treatment penetrates deep into the hair shaft, replenishing moisture and repairing damage caused by heat styling, environmental factors, and chemical treatments.
With regular use, the hair mask helps restore elasticity, strength, and shine, making your tresses more resilient and less prone to frizz and split ends.
You apply it after shampooing on damp hair and leave in for 3-5 minutes.
It really made my hair feel nice! I have a hard time finding conditioners that work well and usually have to rely on an additional detangler and I didn’t need it after this. This is the first thing I used completely up and was my favorite of the set.
Vegamour Leave-In Conditioner Review
HYDR-8 Leave-In Conditioner is a multitasking leave-in that detangles, reduces frizz (without silicone!) and provides heat protection up to 450 degrees.
Since I was planning on heat styling my hair, I still used it even though my hair felt nice enough to not need anything additional after my shower.
It has the same scent, but it seems a little stronger on the floral side with hints of jasmine and geranium. The scent blended well with the shampoo and conditioner so afterwards, when used with heat styling, my hair looked nice and smooth.
My Honest Opinion of Vegamour
I liked the products and think they did make my hair feel nice after I styled it. However, just drying naturally, I couldn’t tell a big amount of difference.
I do have bleached out, damaged hair, so it needs a lot of help. Since trying Vegamour, I have found other shampoo and conditioners that work better than this, with more pronounced results as far as conditioning and smoothing go.
So, while I did like the conditioner, I did not continue using the product line.
However, I do think they were good products, and they worked well when I used them. I think you’d see more stellar results if your hair is in a bit better condition than mine is in.
More About Vegamour
Vegamour is a hair wellness brand based in Los Angeles, established in 2016. Known for its commitment to plant-based, cruelty-free products, the company formulates solutions designed to support healthy hair, lashes, and brows. Their approach blends naturally sourced ingredients with cutting-edge science, resulting in clean, effective products aimed at improving overall hair and scalp health.
The company takes a holistic view of hair care, recognizing that factors like diet, physical and mental health, and emotional well-being all play a role in how hair looks and feels. This philosophy is woven into both their product development and educational messaging.
Vegamour’s product lineup addresses a variety of hair concerns, including thinning, dryness, and damage. Their standout line, the GRO collection, includes the popular GRO Hair Serum. (I have not gotten to try this line.)
This serum is made with botanicals such as mung bean, red clover, and curcumin, chosen for their potential to support fuller-looking hair and reduce shedding. Beyond serums, the brand also offers shampoos, conditioners, dietary supplements, and targeted treatments for brows and lashes.
High-profile endorsements like Nicole Kidman have helped amplify the brand’s visibility, with public figures sharing personal success stories about improved hair volume and strength after using Vegamour products regularly.
Although I did not see a lasting difference, I only used one round from the set they sent me. It lasted about a month, with the conditioner running out first, because I always use tons of conditioner.
Other reviews frequently mention benefits like decreased hair shedding, increased thickness, and noticeable growth over time—especially when used consistently and alongside healthy hair care habits. I cannot say I noticed that, but I was not using the GRO line.
