Monster High The Movie
As someone who has cosplayed several characters from Monster High, owns some of the dolls and watched the cartoons, I was looking forward to checking out this movie and seeing how they brought the characters to life. The movie is by Nickelodeon, and I feel like the made them more into typical exaggerated Nickelodeon characters rather than true to their doll or cartoon personalities.
They made some big changes in costumes, hair and makeup, and I thought they could have done more with it, but the whole thing seems more like a show on Nickelodeon rather than a big budget movie.
My son liked the movie more than he thought he was going to, and even my husband stuck around to see the end, so it does hook you a bit. The songs and dancing are fun, but very “kid show.” Overall the movie was an OK watch.
The movie follows the story of Clawdeen Wolf, who is attending Monster High for the first time, but has to hide the fact that she’s half human. The school has a 100% monster heart policy. The school just happens to be “alive” and sensing something is amiss, it starts acting up to try and expose the threat.
So what is the threat? Is it Clawdeen’s human side? or something more sinister lurking in the halls of Monster High?
You’ll just have to watch it and find out!
