    I Finally Caught Covid, and It Sucked

    The first Covid symptom I noticed was a little tickle in my throat. Like a feather making me want to cough. My husband had come down with Covid about five days earlier, followed by my son, and then finally it got me. My husband and I are vaccinated, and as soon as he got sick we started wearing masks at home and doing lots of extra hand sanitizing. And we still all got it.     As I sit here typing this, I’m anxiously awaiting the results of a COVID test. I’m a little peeved at myself for not getting vaccinated already. I felt safe in my anti-social bubble and limited exposure over the past year. I was also smug in the fact that I was pretty sure we’d gotten COVID last January before it broke the news.     My son started kindergarten yesterday, and although it wasn’t quite the first day of school I’d been imagining due to the COVID pandemic, it actually went really well. A Little Bit of Normal We live close to school, so our day started with a bike ride, just like I’ve been imaging we’d do since we moved to our little beach town.
