I’ve been blogging for a long time and often help out other blogging friends. Lately I’ve been toying around with the idea of doing some sort of coaching or blogging course but keep getting overwhelmed when trying to set it up. So when a friend of mine wanted to start a new blog, I thought it would be good practice to help her get it going and document the steps as I did it.
She’s going through some big life changes right now, and I know when I have gone through a lot, I always found comfort in being able to get things off my chest by writing on my blog. My first three years of this blog is mostly just me complaining how awful toddlers can be. Now that my son is seven, I actually have time to do other things and blog about that.
We started with the name, logo and domain and are just now getting to content and organizing blog categories. Next up we’ll tackle creating and connecting social media accounts. Then we’ll be covering how to incorporate SEO into blog posts. And little by little, she will carve out her own personal space on the web.
I’ve neglected my own blog a bit while being wrapped up in this new project and all the things that come with summer. So I just wanted to drop in for a little update!
2024 Update: Blogging isn’t for everyone, and Ashleigh chose not to renew her domain and let it expire. It was a good learning experience for me, because I realized I’d rather put the extra effort into fixing up my own blog for now.

🤔 It is nice to know that you are toying around with the idea of being a blog coach. You will have to provide people with an in-depth knowledge of blogging.
In regards to SEO, it is a very tricky thing to teach because SEO is always evolving.
There are lots of blog coaches on the internet (Which makes it a highly competitive field).
Yes there are tons of blog coaches! I do get a little overwhelmed when looking at how many people are doing it. Just have to remind myself that everybody has different experience to offer.
For the SEO, it is always changing, but there are a few basic things that can help a post no matter what update the search engines are on.
Thank you for coaching me! Excited to be doing this 🙂
Looking forward to seeing your blog grow and hopefully become a source of enjoyment, income and writing therapy like it did for me 🙂
