The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run from Paramount Home Entertainment was released on Video on Demand and Paramount + on March 4th, 2021 and has a few surprises I wasn’t expecting! We were sent a free code to watch the movie, along with some fun toys and activities to get us excited about SpongeBob’s newest adventure.
THE SPONGEBOB MOVIE: SPONGE ON THE RUN
Get ready for SpongeBob SquarePants’ most epic adventure yet, as he and the Bikini Bottom crew go on a quest to find SpongeBob’s lost pet snail Gary. The gang follows a path of clues that leads them to powerful King Poseidon, who just happens to have a thing for slathering himself with snail goo. He’s holding Gary captive in the Lost City of Atlantic City and it’s up to SpongeBob and friends to save him from a terrible fate.
Along the way you’ll get a peek into how SpongeBob and his friends met as kids, as well as cameos by A-list stars that will make you ask, “Is that who I think it is in that tumbleweed?”
The answer is yes. I had to Google it to check. It IS Keanu Reeves in tumbleweed! I had barely registered that surprise before I was going, “No way, is that Snoop Dogg about to break it down with some zombie cowboys?”
The movie is cute and fun, and managed to surprise me a bit with the guest stars. My son enjoyed it so much that he’s watched it three times already. The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge on the Run is currently available on VOD platforms for a limited time, with rental price of $19.99,
Check out our Gar-arium!
We found Gary the Snail! Good thing we were also sent all the things to make him a nice cozy snail house. We added sand, rocks, sea glass, moss, soil and a little plant. Then we put Gary inside to check out his new digs. I think he liked it! We also went snail-hunting around the neighborhood to find Gary a few friends until we can get him back to Bikini Bottom.
Watch as we put together our new terrarium for Gary:
