Get a peek inside the most beautiful and often historic Jacksonville area homes with a home tour! The Jacksonville, FL area is the largest US city based on land mass at 840 square miles, and that doesn’t even include the beaches and nearby cities like St. Augustine. That encompasses quite a large area to explore, with unique styles and history in every corner. One great way to explore is to tour area homes that periodically open themselves up to the public during the annual home tours.
Jacksonville Area Home Tours
I love attending home tours to get new ideas for our house and landscape. We’re four years into our renovation and still have many plans for future improvements. Getting to look inside some of these amazing homes is always inspiring. Check out the list below for some of our favorite Jacksonville area home tours, as many are just now returning after a COVID-induced hiatus.
Beaches Tour of Homes
You can get a peek inside the beautiful coastal homes of the neighboring Atlantic and Neptune Beaches during the 5th Annual Beaches Tour of Homes. The one-day event is scheduled for Saturday, November 6th, 2022, from 10AM to 4PM.
The beaches home tour is organized by and benefits the Beaches Town Center Agency (BTCA) which is a nonprofit organization that works for the improvement of the Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach Central Business District. The BTCA helps to protect the unique character of the Beaches Town Center community by maintaining and enhancing its presence as an economic and cultural center. From holiday decorations to landscaping and beautification projects, the volunteer organization works with the cities to continually improve the area.

Riverside Avondale Preservation Home Tour
The 46th Annual Riverside Avondale Preservation Home Tour is back after a two-year hiatus! Each Spring residents of the Riverside Avondale historic district open their homes to benefit Riverside Avondale Preservation. For 2022, the tour is scheduled for Saturday, April 9th from 10 AM to 4 PM and Sunday, April 10 from 12 PM to 4 PM, and tickets are $25, or $20 for RAP members.
This was the first home tour I did in Jacksonville, and it is a spread out over the Riverside Avondale area, so you cover a lot of space. We rode bikes, which is a great way to enjoy the beautiful area and see all the houses without worrying about parking. The self-guided tour goes on rain or shine, and you can explore at your own pace. And if you happen to fall in love with the area while exploring, you’re going to want an Avondale realtor who specializes in the area. Compass Real Estate, Erin E King MBA, REALTOR(R)️ is one who can help you find your dream home in this unique and historic area of Jacksonville.
St. Augustine Bed and Breakfast Holiday Tour
While not located in the city of Jacksonville, this holiday tour in nearby St. Augustine is not to be missed! The tour was postponed in 2021 and rescheduled for December 2022, with exact dates TBA. I look forward to this tour every year, because not only do you get to see inside many different Bed and Breakfast places, but they are all decorated for the holidays, and they really do an amazing job!
The two-day, walking tour includes over 20 Bed and Breakfasts, plus some of the museums. This Holiday event has become a tradition in St. Augustine, showcasing the ancient city’s array of romantic inns decked out for the season in their holiday finery and to showcase local restaurants. A portion of the proceeds go to a local charity.
