The Versatile Blogger Award: Tag You’re it!

I was recently nominated for The Versatile Blogger Award, where I’m required to share seven things about myself and then nominate others. Feel free to snag this award below to give to someone else and keep the trend going!

I am both flattered and happy when another blogger includes me in those “blog awards” that are kind of like chain letters just without the threat at the end. It’s always nice to be recognized by your peers.

The Versatile Blogger Award Rules

  1. Thank the person who nominated you.
  2. Share 7 facts about yourself.
  3. Nominate 5 other bloggers of your choice.
  4. Link your nominees and let them know of your nomination.

1) The Thank You

Thank you to Runaway Nuns and Leprechauns for nominating me for the Versatile Blogger Award! (On last check the blog was no longer active, so that’s why there is no link. Normally you would link to the blog who nominates you!)

2) The 7 Facts

  • I have been married 15 years and have a 2-year-old. I don’t know a lot of people who wait that long to start a family lol. (I am currently updating this post years later and have now been married 22 years with a 9-year-old!)
  • I ran my own costume and corset boutique for 7 years before deciding to be a stay-at-home-mom. I had the business overall for 11 years. Click here to check out my cosplay and costume design resume.
  • I’m 5’9″, so 6′ ft. with even short heels. The #1 comment when people meet me is, “You’re tall.” (In case I didn’t know already, lol) But it usually only happens if I’m wearing heels at the time.
  • I love the water, sun, sand and ocean. That’s where I feel most at home.
  • I also love the rain.
  • Cooking makes me happy. Maybe because I like drinking while I’m cooking, and they mix well together.
  • My mom was a dancer so that’s where my love of costumes and dressing up comes from. I used to love to help with her stage costumes.

3) And the Nominees Are:

  • Purple Slob in Recovery
  • Written in Geek
  • The Sunny Mamas
  • Dorky Mom Doodles
  • Art Mommy

*Normally all blogs would be linked, but none of them are active anymore! It’s amazing how many bloggers stop blogging and just disappear.

What is a Versatile Blogger Award?

The Versatile Blogger Award is a recognition given by bloggers to other bloggers to acknowledge their versatility and quality in writing across various topics. It aims to highlight and support talented bloggers who demonstrate a broad range of skills and creativity in their posts.

The process typically involves:

  1. Nomination: Bloggers who receive the award are usually nominated by fellow bloggers. This peer recognition is a core element of the award.
  2. Acceptance: To accept the award, the nominated blogger writes a blog post acknowledging the person who nominated them, often including a link to their blog.
  3. Sharing Facts: As part of the acceptance, the blogger often shares seven personal facts about themselves, allowing their readers to get to know them better.
  4. Nominating Others: The recipient then nominates other bloggers for the award, typically around 5-10, and informs them of their nomination.
  5. Rules: There are informal rules, such as thanking the person who nominated you, sharing the award on your blog, and nominating others.

The Versatile Blogger Award is a way to build community and support among bloggers, encouraging interaction, collaboration, and mutual appreciation within the blogging world.

But you don’t need to sit around and wait to be nominated! All you need to get it going is to do a post and nominate other bloggers you admire and would like to connect with.

  1. Thanks for the nomination! I’m an award free site, but I will definitely mention this in tomorrow’s post.

      • I came across it a while ago. Check out my About me. I just have a badge on there. People have various reasons for opting out.

        • ah yes, I did see that before but it didn’t register correctly. At first glance, I thought it was some kind of award for being a free blog, lol. There’s just so many out there, you know? And the way it was broken up as “award” then “free blog”… with no further explanation … ok maybe I needed more coffee 🙂

  2. Congrats on your award and thanks for the nomination! It cracked me up, thinking about people commenting that you’re tall. Just, why?
