Hey there! I’m back with the first Week in Review for 2019, and only a couple of weeks behind. I slacked off on the round-up during the holiday, but the kiddo went back to preschool (finally!) so I guess it’s time for me to get it back together.
Week in Review – 1/1 – 1/12
Happy New Year! – We had a great New Year’s Eve and we didn’t even leave the neighborhood. Instead of trying to make big plans, we decided to hang out by our new fire pit and just chat with neighbors as they walked by. We ended up getting invited to a dinner a few houses down and then the kids got to play with sparklers and shoot off a few fireworks. It was actually the best NYE I’ve had in a while! It was just really relaxed and fun hanging with the neighbors and kids.
Rockin the Beaches – We hadn’t found a painted rock or “Kindness Rock” in a while and then found one at the beach on Monday. Then later that week found two more at the park. The one we found at the beach was from Blairsville, GA! It’s always neat to find rocks from other places, or when you are traveling. I feel like I found a tiny treasure every time I spot one. I just stocked up on some white paint and a new set of paint markers so we can make a few to hide around our neighborhood.
An New Costume – I started 2019 off with a new cosplay- Amora the Enchantress. I had been wanting to make this one for a while and the materials were just sitting in a drawer for years. I also put together a Scarlet Witch costume for my friend Effie, who also happens to be my latest featured Geek of the Week. We wore the outfits to the closing weekend of a History of Superheroes exhibit at the MOSH.
New sponsor section! – You may have noticed I usually end my Week in Review posts with a new product I’m trying out. I’ve decided to make it official and include a “sponsor” spot for every week. Please contact me if you are a company interested in being featured here!
*This Week’s Sponsor Product is the Xcentz 48W 5-Port USB Charger
I have been amassing a pretty impressive mess of wires and cords by my bed due needing to charge my iPhone, Kindle, headphones and Apple Watch. And sometimes I add my iPad to the mess. So I found the idea of a cube that charges five devices at once rather appealing. The Xcentz has five charging ports (1 Quick charge 3.0 port, 1 type c port & 3 USB ports) that provide up to nine amps to all ports simultaneously.
I especially like that it has a quick charger on there for those days when I forgot to charge my headphones and I’m leaving for the gym in 20 minutes. With that I can still manage to charge them up enough to last my gym visit, even in a short amount of time.
You can find it on Amazon for $29.00 and it comes with an 18 month warranty:
