Keane Interest: Clueless, Dinosauria and a PLAYERS Preview

We had a busy week with the opening of Dinosauria at the Jacksonville Zoo, a Clueless/90s themed moms night out event with Jacksonville Mom and a food and drink preview for THE PLAYERS Championship.

A ’90s Style Moms Night Out

Jacksonville Mom and Money Pages got together to present a fun Moms Night Out event at the San Marco Theatre, celebrating the 25th anniversary of the movie Clueless. My friend Emily and I dressed up in our favorite 90s gear, played a game of MASH, picked out new scrunchies and got our hair styled by the Dry Bar. I really enjoyed seeing so many people get into the theme!

Dinosaur Sightings in Jacksonville, FL

Dinosaurs come alive this month at the Dinosauria exhibit at the Jacksonville Zoo! I got to attend during media preview day and did a full write-up on the visit: Travel Back in Time with Dinosauria at the Jacksonville Zoo

The exhibit features more than 20 life-size prehistoric animals that move and roar as you make your way through several different moments of time from millions of years ago. They will be on display now through July 5th.

THE PLAYERS Championship Food and Drink Preview

Friday night we attended the food and drink preview for THE PLAYERS Championship game that takes place next week at TPS Sawgrass. We sampled wines by Meoimi and food from several of the vendors that will be there: Minibar Donuts, Bonefish Grill, Cousins Maine Lobster, ABBQ and Homespun Kitchen.

Last year we made it a TPC date day and got a sitter, but this year we are taking our son for the first time and doing a family day! We plan to check out the Kid Zone and other family friendly fun. My son loves to play mini-golf so I think he might find the real thing pretty neat. Or be totally bored and ask why there’s no pirate ships or volcanoes for them to aim for… You never know! But I do know we plan to indulge in a round of this year’s signature cocktail- the Sawgrass Splash.

That’s it for last week. This upcoming week is Spring Break! We didn’t make any big travel plans so we’ll just be staying home and trying to get some house projects done. Later in the week we head to THE PLAYERS and then we plan to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day over the weekend with my husband’s parents, who are both from Limerick, Ireland.
