Are You Ready for Spooky Season? Countdown to Halloween

It’s officially the first day of Fall, but here in Florida it is a blazing 90+ degrees and sunny skies. However, that’s not going to stop me from enjoying spooky season! I’ve been doing a countdown to Halloween on Instagram, gave my costume a test run at a convention over the weekend, and started bringing all our Halloween decorations down from the attic. Let’s get this season started!

100 Days of Halloween Happy

The 100 day countdown to Halloween is on over on Instagram, thanks to prompts from @HalloweenHappy. You can jump in at any time and pick and choose the days you want to participate. It’s great for days when you want an idea for something to post, plus I’ve connected with a lot of new people who love Halloween! You can use the prompts for Instagram, blog post ideas, stories, or even journaling. The third round started 9/11 and you can find posts from other people by searching #100daysofhalloweenhappy. Mermaid Attends Ancient City Con

I’ve been working on this costume for Halloween and decided to give it a test run at Ancient City Con over the weekend. It promptly started falling apart as soon as I walked out the door, so I will be making several changes before I wear it to the Halloween party we are attending. I’m also still not exactly sure what I am… I’m a mermaid that left the sea and now has legs. Or a sea siren. Or maybe just the Queen of the Sea. While I’m not totally sure, I know I am some sort of royal sea creature, lol.

Decorating for the Season

I love the way my neighborhood gets into spooky season with lots of Halloween decor. We just started bringing down our Halloween stuff from the attic and have put a few pieces out. I figure if we keep putting out a little at a time, by October 1st everything will be ready!

I usually buy one new big piece for the yard but haven’t picked anything out yet this year. I may put it all into our Trunk or Treat decor. Last year was the first time we did it and just threw the idea together at the last minute. But this year I want to go all out! I’m still trying to come up with a good idea though.

So who else is ready? Did you start decorating yet?
