Uprise Media Really Wants My Facebook Page

I’ve gotten five e-mails this week, all from different people at Uprise Media with the subject line: Earn money from Facebook: Understanding the basics of monetization. They are offering me $1000 upfront and 10% revenue share, but the whole thing screams scam. The only issue is that I haven’t been able to prove it yet.

If they have contacted you, and you went forward with it, please leave me a comment or e-mail me at candy @ geekmamas.com. I wrote a previous post about it, detailing why I think it is a scam. Click here to read that post. (It will open in a new window)

Uprise Media UAE

Googling Uprise Media will actually bring up the ones here in the US, which are real companies. But the one that is sending out these messages is Uprise Media UAE.

A screenshot of their website is below. If you’d like to know more about their “markting” (sic) services or what a “social experiential” service might be, too bad because none of these links actually work. Not even the entire “quick links” menu at the bottom of the website functions.

I Can’t Monetize on Facebook Anyway

Their website looks suspicious. A lot of flashy text without really saying anything, a lot of typos and a lot of missing links. And then there’s their social media, which is just a bunch of fake followers. You can tell because their posts have zero likes and comments. Fake followers don’t comment.

And while they are after my page so badly, what they don’t know if that I can’t even monetize it. Ever since my Facebook page was stolen a few years ago, it comes up as “connected to an entity that has gone against Facebook community standards.” I have appealed probably 50+ times over the last couple years and it always comes back with that and no other explanation. Incredibly frustrating to say the least.

This is why I’m so suspicious of all these e-mails. It is similar to the ad scam that got me the first time. They needed access to my page, and helpfully walked me through adding them. Later that day I got a notification that I’d been removed as administrator and had no access to my own page.

I did eventually get it back, but it was a process, and the page has never been the same since. So, you want to be as cautious as possible when it some to giving anyone any kind of access to your page.

If you have any info about Uprise Media, please comment or contact me!

PS- Seconds after publishing this, I got yet ANOTHER e-mail from Uprise Media! This time with the headline: “Discover the power of Facebook monetization for your brand.” They are really hustling this week.

2025 Update: I haven’t gotten contacted by Uprise in a long time or had a comment on this in a while. I checked their website, and they still appear to be active, with the same few accounts being promoted as success stories. So, I’m still not sure what their whole story is.

  1. Yep. Screams scam, esp with their own site and social media being bogus.

Even if it were legit, NOBODY wants to look at Facebook posts when they’re jammed with ads. Guaranteed way to lose followers for sure, unless you’re Beyonce posting topless pics after the commercials, LOL.

    • yeah nobody wants to see more ads! It’s just really weird the way so many people have responded to my other scam posts, but not this one. My guess is that Uprise Media already brings up so many other posts that it is buried under that. Which is exactly what the hope will happen when people google them I’m sure.

      • It’s early yet. You MAY still get more bites. 🙂

WP is very odd though. Alot of my “consumer” type posts get no hits. The most shocking for me was my one on Xylitol. I post about a sugar substitute that has multiple medical studies showing it REPAIRS teeth and bones, and nobody cares.

        • This is my second post on Uprise. I did get one response on the older post, but it was from someone who was also suspicious, but didn’t go through with it so couldn’t confirm the scam.
I have heard that xylitol is good for your teeth! But didn’t know it actually repairs them. I need to check that out.

  2. I received an email this morning, googled the name and found your article. I had already figured scam but wanted to double check, the information you gave was enough for me.

  3. I was just contacted via an instagram DM about working with Uprise Media in regards to my FB Page, which has 6M followers. The (verified) account who sent the DM was @matthunter123 with 494K followers, and he seems to be a real musician as he has 300K+ monthly listeners on Spotify. He even has a wikipedia page.

I haven’t responded because the whole thing still seems super scammy to me, and either way I have no interest in putting random ads on my FB page — but it is definitely odd that it was this apparently real person who messaged me about it. (Maybe his account has been stolen?) Also I’m not sure if it’s the US or UAE version of Uprise Media that he’s referring to, there were no links or emails included in the DM. He just said he’d arrange a meeting with their CEO lol.

    • 6M!! I bet they want to get you really bad. As a side note, don’t accept any offers for a podcast that wants to pay you $3k. That’s another scam targeting big pages. The Uprise Media people also sent me a referral through a woman who appeared to be a real actress, also with a Wikipedia page. It seems possible it could be a real offer, but everything about it screams scam.
