VYBE9: Mitra-9 Kratom and Kava Shot Review

An honest review of the Mitra-9 kratom and kava shots, called VYBE9. I started drinking Mitra-9 kratom seltzers because they actually taste good, which is hard to do when dealing with kratom.

Unfortunately, the shots can’t escape that horrible bitterness, and they are tough to get down. But the balanced effect makes it worth it for a quick medicinal gulp.

VYBE9: A Balanced Energy Buzz

I sometimes find straight kratom seltzers too much for me. I like the buzzy energy it brings when it works right, but sometimes it just makes me feel weird or upsets my stomach. I am on the sensitive side when it comes to things like that.

My husband loves the Mitra-9 kratom seltzers, and he’s never had the weird stomach feeling, so everybody is affected differently. I have found that I prefer the kratom and kava blend shots for a more balanced result.

Mitra-9’s website description says it best: “Feel uplifted while feeling like yourself. Each VYBE9 Shot contains a balanced botanical blend that supports a focused, calm headspace with no inebriation.”

Mitra-9’s VYBE9 shots contain 50mg Mitragynine and 100mg Kava. In comparison, the seltzers have 45mg Mitragynine and the powdered drink mixes have 64mg.

The mix of kratom and kava seem to compliment each other and mellow out the negative effects I sometimes get from kratom.

I should mention that I usually only do half a shot at a time! And I recommend getting it very cold first and having water nearby to wash down the bitter taste afterwards.

What About the Taste

VYBE9 comes in three flavors: Crisp Apple, Blue Razz and Fire Shot. They all have a bitterness to them, but the least awful tasting one (to me) is the Blue Razz.

The Crips Apple tastes nothing like Granny Smith Apples, which is how they describe the flavor on the website. And the Fire Shot is like a bitter shot of Fireball. You may like that one if you like Fireball. I am not a fan of the cinnamon flavor.

The Blue Razz does not taste good by any means, but it still tastes better than some of kratom shots I’ve tried, where it was so bad that the flavor stuck and I couldn’t even finish the shot.

More About the Effects and Feeling

For Mitra-9’s VYBE9 Shot, the most noticeable benefit is the balanced feel. The kava brings a smooth, steady calm that takes the edge off stress without feeling mentally dull, while the kratom extract adds a subtle lift that can translate into improved focus and motivation.

Instead of swinging fully into sedation or overstimulation, the combination tends to land in a centered middle ground—relaxed body, clear head. For many users, that makes it appealing for social settings, creative work, or winding down without fully checking out.

Another positive is the convenience and consistency. Because the shot is standardized, the experience feels more predictable compared to loose powders or DIY blends. Users often describe a gentle mood elevation, less physical tension, and a more even emotional tone.

The body relaxation from the kava can soften tight shoulders and mental chatter, while the kratom component may help maintain alertness so you don’t feel couch-locked. It’s the kind of synergy that can feel functional rather than heavy.

Always Proceed with Caution

That said, a balanced experience still deserves balanced caution. Even plant-based extracts affect the central nervous system and the liver, so it’s smart to start with the recommended half-bottle serving to assess tolerance.

Avoid combining it with alcohol, prescription sedatives, or other substances that slow reaction time. Anyone with liver conditions, respiratory issues, or who takes medications that affect mood, anxiety, or pain should speak with a healthcare professional first.

As with any supplement that alters how you feel, moderation and awareness matter just as much as the positive effects.
